• Extremely rare Chinese Art in Three-Dimensional Colour published by The Gruber Foundation of Portland, Oregon consisting of 4 volumes of green linen-covered hardbound binding with each volume housed in its own durable slipcase.
• Each of the 180 View-Master reels are mounted in folio-pockets attached to the inside of the front and rear covers of each volume. This unique edition was a private project by the inventor of the View-Master system, William B. Gruber, who also took most of the over twelve hundred images and financed the production on his own expenses.
• Originally it was planned to print only 1,000 sets but since Mr. Gruber died before the first book was released his wife Norma Gruber had to finish the work. In order to be able to finance her late husbands dream, she founded the The Gruber Foundation, Inc. and only about 300 sets have been produced. In 1969 a set of the Chinese Art sold for $400 Dollars and mainly went to institutions like the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
